Support the Artist with Donations
Some people or philanthropists feel a special kinship with artists, though they may not be actively collecting, and choose to support them through donations of money and/or art supplies.
This generosity is especially helpful to Efraín because he makes his living by his artwork. Times can be tough during the off-season (May through November) when tourists – who comprise a large portion of his sales for the year – are not visiting Panamá.
Efraín’s sales are almost all person-to-person from inside Panamá, as he operates without the benefits of constant marketing and internet presence that artists from other technologically advanced countries enjoy.
Quality painting supplies, which might be taken for granted by artists in the U.S. and Europe, are simply not available in Panamá. If you prefer to send oil paints and brushes to Efraín, they will be used with integrity and gratitude.
Things To Know:
- Your donation(s) will go twice as far in Panamá, where the cost of living is less
- So no amount is too small and will be used resourcefully toward living expenses or art supplies
- Efraín returns such gifts into his local community, teaching art to children, advocating for the planet and generally working to make our world a better place
If you would like to support Efraín in his work, either by monetary donation or a package of supplies shipped into Boquete, please email him at 3frainAntonio@gmail.com.
Please note: The fastest way to send money into Panamá is through Western Union Panama, as Pay Pal and other alternate deposit systems do not deposit into Panamá bank accounts at this time.
Meet efraín in person at Boquete’s Tuesday Market
Efraín Antonio is Boquete’s premier oil painter
He is a fixture of the Tuesday Market, where he sells his paintings and takes commission requests. The market is held every Tuesday from 8:30 am until 12 pm at the BCP Event Building in Boquete, located on the right-hand side just over the bridge past the main square in town.
Visiting him there provides the perfect opportunity to meet the artist, view his work in person and discuss his methods.
